Big Red at THE HEALING BARN

The Healing Barn has a beautiful retired police horse that came in in 2016.  He is not a rescue and he is VERY healthy. He is one big big boy standing about 18 hands tall. He is as gentle as he tall. His Name is Red. I call him BIG RED. His owners names are Helen and Colleen.

The Healing Barn now has 19 horses 1/2 being rescues. I haven’t posted for some time now and would like to get you all up to speed on what has been happening over the last couple of years.

Jack a beautiful white donkey came to us about 5 years ago. Jack’s owner could no longer care for him and there where 2 chooses on the table. Luckily we were first to shout we will care for him, no matter what he needs. And so on a New Years Day icey and blowing rain Mr. Jack came to The Healing Barn to live out his life. He is 23 years old and has Cushing disease. Luckily we have Herbs for that and his disease has not progressed any further than when we got him.

His hair is all white and a little curly, he has fatty tumors all over his body. But all and all once again he is super nice Donkey and anyone that comes to our barn instantly falls in love with Mr. Jack. Jack is a rescue and depends on kind donations to keep him healthy.

On any given day you can see Jack roaming thru out the stalls looking for snacks that the other horses have left and leaving his mark in each stall he goes into. 🙂

At 6 AM when I come out of the house to walk out to feed, Jack is the one who sounds the alarm. HEEHAW HEEHAW wake up everyone it’s time to eat. HEEHAW no matter how cold or hot it is makes me smile and I immediately go about my chores.

That’s it for now. Stay tuned more stories to come.

Love,

Nancy

Owner of THE HEALING BARN
